Proud to be AQC

Seufert Construction Awarded AQC Accreditation

Press Release

December 21, 2021 – Seufert Construction has been named an Accredited Quality Contractor by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), the 1st year it has earned the prestigious credential for its commitment to corporate responsibility. Of the 21,000 total ABC members, only 229 of the nation’s elite merit shop construction contractors earned the credential in 2021.

Partner Scott Tretter had this to say about the achievement, “Seufert Construction is proud to be recognized as 1 of only 9 other general contractors in all of Indiana and Kentucky for its long term commitment to quality construction, safety, investment in our staff and their continued education, and the community we serve.”

Launched in 1993, ABC’s Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC) program provides recognition to world-class construction firms that have documented their commitment in five areas:

  • Quality
  • Safety performance
  • Talent management
  • Craft and management education
  • Community relations, inclusion, diversity, and equity

In earning the AQC credential, each member company commits to world-class safety by achieving Gold, Platinum or Diamond level in ABC’s STEP Safety Management System. Founded more than three decades ago, STEP dramatically improves safety performance among construction industry participants, with top performers achieving incident rates more than eight times safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average. AQC is recognized by Construction Users Roundtable, an organization founded by leading construction project owners.
